Time Trials Volunteers

Weather

I have set up a text service called Remind 101 to send weather updates. Please send a text saying @thewood to 817-489-9506. The co aches or myself will send weather updates if practice is cancelled or if lighting or thunder pulls us out of the pool mid-practice. This will be the only purpose of this service.

Meet sign-ups

All meets are ready for sign-up on the website. The Monday before a meet is the deadline for entries. You can sign up for all of the meets for the season right now if you'd like. Make sure to get your time trials entries in b the end of the day Wednesday.

Time Trials IMPORTANT PLEASE READ!!!

Time trials is on Saturday. If you absolutely cannot make it on Saturday, you must have your child at a practice tomorrow, Wednesday May 8. The swimmer needs to tell the coach they won't be at time trials, and need to ask to be timed during practice on Wednesday. If you can't make it Wednesday or Saturday, we wil l either use last year's time or make up a slow time for your swimmer. These are the only options.

Again, please remember to arrive by 7am on Saturday for 7:15 warm-ups and team pictures at 8:00. Meet starts at 8:30am sharp.

Fundraiser

First Choice ER is sponsoring a fundraiser where all we need to do is have parents visit the facility. For each parent visiting the facility, First Choice will donate $10 back to your team. I have uploaded the flyer to the website. The dates are May 9-26. Please print the flyer or pick up one at the pool.

Hi everyone!  This is Leigh Cordier, team rec specialist.  All information will be posted for the team on our new website  www.thewoodlandshurricanes.swim-team.us

If your friends are not getting emails, have them check their spam folders first, then let us know.  I have double checked many emails and they are all entered correctly.

We are need of volunteers for Time Trials on Saturday and future meets.  Seee Dan Steward or myself at the pool if you want to help.

We need a 6 and under boys team parent.  Please see me at the pool or talk to Nancy Haub to find out exactly what this position involves.

We need a Spirit Committee lead parent to organize coach's dinners during practice, coach's breakfasts at meets, swimmers treats for Mondays, etc.  Most of it can be done by online sign-ups.  Please see me if you're inter ested in this position.  This can be done as a team if you and your friend want to share this job.

Team swimsuits ordered from D&J will be delivered this week before the meet on Saturday.  I will let you know exactly what day when I confirm.  The second order of personalized caps should be arriving at the same time.

Every swimmer gets a hurricanes tank top.  Please see me to pick up if you have not.  Additional sizes are being ordered.  Anyone registered after mid-April, will have shirts arriving soon.

Each swim family has a login on the website.  It is your main email address and canes2013 as the password.  Please click swim meets, choose the swimmer icon next to the time trials meet.  Pull down and register your swimmers for all events and click save.  If you are not able to attend time trials, let me know asap.  We will need to arrange to time your swimmer during practice.  If you can't login, let me know.

I will get additional meets up in the next few days.  You will need to register your swimmers for each meet.  For a regular meet, each swimmer can swim 3 individual events and up to 2 relays which are chosen by the coaches.  Meet deadlines are Monday at midnight before a meet.  We'll print the meet entries for checking at the pool on Tuesdays.

Time Trials is this Saturday.  Please plan to arrive by 7am to get yourself set up.  We'll have warmup starting at 7:15.  Team picture will be taken at 8am.  The meet will start at 8:30 am.  Expect this meet to run until 1pm or so.  A regular meet might go a little longer.  Parking will be in the lot and all down Alden Bridge Drive and at Buckalew Elementary.  Reserved parking for lead volunteers is closer to the pool.  See me for a parking pass if you're a lead volun teer.

Individual pictures are scheduled for Tuesday May 14 from 4-7pm.  Please come dressed in your team suit.  The photographer will have order forms at the pool.
